We are three moms who together have three girls, two boys, one non-binary child and over 40 years of apparel industry experience. We founded Mightly to make the kind of clothes we want for our own kids: clothes that can handle any kind of adventure, are ethically made, and don't cost a fortune.
We believe that comfort and creativity should go hand in hand. Our organic cotton kids clothes feature original artwork by emerging artists. Our current collection is a collaboration with print and textile artist Lili Arnold. Lili used hand-carving and drawing techniques to create playful prints and graphics which were transfer onto our textiles using non-toxic inks.
Mightly has a completely transparent supply chain. We know our factories, their suppliers and where our cotton is grown. By using organic cotton and working with a Fair Trade Certified factory, Mightly supports better working conditions for the people who craft our clothes.
Fair Trade Certified factories must adhere to rigorous social, environmental and economic standards to protect the health and safety of workers. For every Fair Trade Certified product sold, Mightly pays an additional Fair Trade Premium directly back to the workers who make our clothes. Collectively, they vote on how to spend the funds on projects that address local needs, so that their families and children can thrive for generations to come.
Our products are Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified. GOTS certification ensures that our cotton is truly organic and that every step in the manufacturing process complies with safety and environmental standards. The organic farming practices used by Mightly's cotton suppliers do not damage the soil and use 71% less water and 62% less energy than conventional cotton farming.
While all organic cotton is better for the planet, not all organic cotton is the same. Mightly uses organic cotton from Chetna Organic Farmers Association. Established with the aim of addressing poverty in marginalized farming communities, Chetna is a farmer-owned non-profit that works with smallholder farming families in India to make farming a sustainable and profitable occupation. Chenta supports many development projects in remote farming villages such as schools, vocational training centers, eco-centers, women’s enterprises and revolving loan funds.
At Mightly, we’re not afraid to speak out on issues that matter like racial justice and gender equality. We believe our values are what make our business special and we will not be silent in the face of oppression whether it’s in our industry, our country, or our community.
